Description

The Human Resources Intern is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the HR department, including but not limited to recruitment and onboarding, general administration, developing internal communications and coordinating various HR programs and initiatives.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 

  • Provide end-to-end support with the recruitment process, including sourcing candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating onboarding activities
  • Prepare written email communications and other internal documents for distribution to associates as well as proof-reading communications prepared by other team members as required
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination of HR initiatives
  • Assist with the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, such as team-building events and recognition programs
  • Coordinate the scheduling and logistics of HR-related training and development programs
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team, including preparing reports, creating MS PowerPoint Presentations for the HR department, and responding to general inquiries
  • Co-ordinating HR departmental meetings
  • Assist with various HR projects as required
  • Stay informed of changes in HR policies, procedures, and best practices, and make recommendations for improvements

Qualifications  

         

  • Enrolled in or recently completed a degree or diploma majoring in Human Resources
  • Minimum 1 year work experience in a professional setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with associates at all levels
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative to make process improvements
  • Collaborative team player with a customer-service oriented mindset
