Alphabet (GB) Ltd. as a leading provider of Business Mobility Services is also located in Farnborough.

BMW Financial Services, Farnborough – Level 3 Accounting Services Apprenticeship – 18 months (August 2025)

This is an exciting position for an Accounting Services Apprentice, reporting to the Accounting Services Manager where you will be performing a number of Business-critical accounting services tasks for the UK and Ireland each day including Payments, Cash Allocation, Commission & support and APAR.

This is an interesting and wide-ranging role for an individual with a keen interest in widening their existing knowledge of accounting processes or wishing to begin a new career in accounting. The Accounting Services Apprentice role will provide a strong foundation of knowledge in accounting processes which would support existing or future studies towards AAT.

What will you be doing?

The role will require you to work with multiple stakeholders across the BMW Group and beyond, providing a fantastic opportunity for you to build your network.

The Accounting Services Apprentice role will have daily responsibilities which will include:

• Ensuring all daily payment and collection files are signed off in accordance with the company Authorisation Policy and processed via internal and external transactional banking partners.
• Daily internal and external bank reconciliations including the timely allocation of payments received to Customer ledgers and investigation of any unallocated funds with various departments and banking partners.
• Processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices and accounts payable ledgers ensuring the payment of invoices within agreed payment terms.
• Raising of invoices to external companies and BMW Group entities, ensuring the timely collection of funds within agreed payment terms.
• Calculation, reconciliation and processing of retailer and partner commission payments.

An Accounting Services Apprentice will also be required to complete other tasks as required by the Accounting Services Manager including:

• Review of data for team KPI reporting i.e. Aged Payables, Aged Receivables, Unallocated Cash, Payment Days etc.
• Assisting with the drafting of business requirements for projects and completion of associated project testing
• Assistance with monitoring of Internal Control measures
• Identification of process and system enhancements to streamline team and wider business activities
   

Qualifications

• A minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or Grade 5 (or above), including Maths and English.

The next stage is a Video Interview. You can complete this at any time of day during your five-day invitation window and you will be recorded answering a set of questions. The first question is just for you to get used to recording yourself and is not assessed. Following completion of the Video Interview, successful applicants will be shortlisted and invited to a face-to-face Assessment Centre with BMW Group. Provisionally, the Assessment Centre is due to take place week commencing 31st March 2025.
