Description

Provides technical support within the upper-level systems functions of the battery plant to include: Oracle data collection and reporting, PLC controls, PLC visualization, and support applications.

 

The qualified intern should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

  • Plans and implements improvements within Battery Plant related to the specific upper-level systems.
  • Participates in cross-functional project teams supporting activities for upper-level systems.
  • Develops and maintains user and support documentation for areas of responsibility.
  • Provides technical support to Battery Plant groups for resolving upper-level systems related issues.
  • Interfaces with the IT group to ensure efficient operation of the Battery Plant Upper-Level Systems.
  • Develops HMI screens for automatic line control and maintenance information systems for all Battery Plant operations.
  • Supports Plant / Battery Plant targets and goals for Production, Quality, Safety and Costs.
  • Understands and models VPS (Value Added Production System) Principles and concepts of Standard Work and Problem Solving.
  • Adheres to 5S and Safety Standards and Principles.
  • Contribute to the IT Gen6 production monitoring and production steering implementation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications:

  • BS Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering (preferred) or similar degree.
  • Preferred: PLC programming, HMI/SCADA programming, Visual Basic, Scripting, C or Java programming
  • Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major)
  • Have enrolled student status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
  • Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
  • Ability to work full-time on-site (40 hours / week).
  • Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
  • MUST ATTACH A COPY OF UNOFFICIAL TRANSCRIPT
  • Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term.
  • THE WORK TERM DATES ARE May 19th – August 8th, 2025.
