We, the BMW Group, offer you an interesting and varied internship in the area of battery cells. Our department stands for the development of the next generation of battery cells for our electric vehicles. We are responsible for the properties of the cell in the Battery Storage Technology Cluster and the development of prototype battery cells in collaboration with pilot production.
What awaits you?
- As part of your job, you will support us in developing, testing and validating prototype battery cells.
- Your tasks include the preparation, execution and evaluation of development tests.
- Furthermore, you will be able to get to know and characterize the different materials conforming battery cells.
- The focus of your role will be on the mechanical components of the battery cell and their interaction with other materials.
- To do this, you will supervise and optimize test benches and laboratory tests at cell or sub-component level.
- You will help our team build instrumented cells and gain insights into the individual production steps of pilot production.
- Involvement in day-to-day operations rounds off your exciting internship.
What should you bring along?
- Studies in engineering, mechanical engineering, materials engineering, physical engineering, electrical engineering/mechatronics, chemical engineering or a comparable course of study.
- Second half of a bachelor's degree or master's degree.
- Initial experience with battery cells/battery storage/electric mobility is desirable.
- Fluent in business with German and good English skills.
- Class B driving license.
- Personal initiative.
- Ability to work in a team and communicate.
