I am halfway through a Level 2 Lean Manufacturing Apprenticeship for Rolls-Royce Motor Cars. I work in the sewing department within the Interior Trim Centre where we create the interior components for the cars, (which require sewing) such as seats and headrests.
What I enjoy most about my role is the diversity. I don’t do the same thing every day and I can complete placements in other areas of the business. These placements give me insight into other aspects of Rolls-Royce and allow me to grow my knowledge and experience. I am paid to learn and gain qualifications which I am unbelievably grateful for.
My advice to anyone considering an apprenticeship is that you get out what you put in. Apprenticeships are full of amazing possibilities and include a fantastic support system. However, to reach your full potential you must put yourself out there and work hard. Take every opportunity you can, network as much as possible and step out of your comfort zone, you wont regret it.
