After completing my degree, I knew that I wanted to join a graduate programme. The great thing I found about Rolls-Royce is that you can experience a variety of business areas, rotate your placements and really be part of something different. They are looking for future leaders, so they give you a lot of responsibility from an early stage.

I quickly discovered there would be lots of ways to make use of my STEM degree. It’s a technical company building amazing products, so there are tons of opportunities to be involved in from an engineering perspective, from design, through to testing and production. Any part of engineering that you're interested in, there’s a good chance there’s a placement here that would suit you.

Currently, I work closely with our internal engineering and design teams to review the manufacturing processes and quality of our upcoming products. I also frequently visit our suppliers during the development phase and help to improve their production, all while maintaining the high quality standards our customers expect.

All the people here are absolutely lovely, which makes my career even more fulfilling. One of the things I really like is the reputation of the brand and I love being based at the Home of Rolls-Royce, because I come in every morning and I see all these incredible cars being built and that really is quite amazing. I was also lucky enough to go to Munich during my programme. It was a brilliant opportunity to experience a different culture, learn German, and as Rolls-Royce is wholly owned by BMW, to see how things work within another BMW Group location.

My advice to people starting the graduate scheme is to think through and map out what you want to achieve and where you'd like to end up working. From here, you’ll have access to the right experience and skills. Take any chance you can to explore BMW Group because you never know what area you might want to work in when you complete the programme.
