As an engineer you want to learn from the best, that’s why I was interested in gaining experience with Rolls-Royce. The project I’m working on at the moment means I spend up to half of my time in Production, measuring machines, seeing the production line, understanding the layout and how the car is built, it's really interesting.
My team’s aim is to optimise the production process. I currently support concrete improvement projects and I'm really looking forward to seeing that happen because I’m so involved in the process.
From day one I was given ownership of tasks and began getting involved in conversations with suppliers. My boss gives me all the support I need – we do it once together and then I try to do it alone, but he’s always there if I need him. And everyone helps each other – it’s such a friendly environment, you can ask anyone questions. I highly recommend an internship here because you get opportunities to learn by having real responsibility, and there’s such a great sense of team spirit.
