Rayong is a city on the east coast of the Gulf of Thailand. The main industry is fishing, and it is also the center of the chemical and auto industries. Rayong is one of the three Thai provinces, together with Chonburi and Chachoengsao, at the center of the nation’s Eastern Economic Corridor. The three provinces are to become Thailand’s hub for manufacturing, research, and services tightly coupled with its ASEAN neighbors and the world logistically.

BMW Group Manufacturing Thailand (Plant Rayong) started its business operation with BMW 3 Series (4th Generation).
Plant Rayong received a Free Zone privilege from the Excise Tax Department.
Plant Rayong produced BMW 7 Series (5th Generation) as the first export model to Malaysia.
Plant Rayong started the assembly of MINI Countryman for local market.
Plant Rayong started the assembly of BMW Motorrad for both domestic and export markets – marking its milestone to be the only facility among its global production network that assemble 3 brands under one roof. In the same year, it also hit the 50,000-unit production milestone.
Plant Rayong exported BMW X5 (4th Generation) to China. In the same year, it hit the 80,000-unit production milestone.
Plant Rayong began the assembly of four BMW Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PHEV) models – BMW 3 Series iPerformance, BMW 5 Series iPerformance, BMW 7 Series iPerformance, and BMW X5 iPerformance.
Plant Rayong celebrated the 100,000-unit production milestone.
Plant Rayong expanded its motorcycle export market to India.
