First implemented in 2015, the BMW Manufacturing (Thailand) plant’s Vocational Training Program was conceived under the direction of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and the Thai government to elevate the standard of Thai vocational education – an outlook that is in line with BMW Group’s own strategy. The program emphasizes a development approach in alignment with BMW’s standard practice while also taking into account adaptations for the local environment. In parallel, the program also prepares a pipeline of skilled talent that meets the company’s needs in specific aspects of knowledge, culture, and behavior. These elements provide local talent adequate preparation for future market developments as well as new technologies, ultimately enhancing the expertise of the workforce and raising the bar for the local market to meet modern international standards.
