WHAT AWAITS YOU.

  • Key member of the government & external affairs team, leading policy engagement specific to the pillars of federal and state tax credits and grant programs for the development and promotion of key manufacturing and sales initiatives.  

  • Maintains relationships and works effectively with relevant political and external stakeholders and partner organizations: i.e. Members of Congress, US Administration, diplomatic and business community, trade associations, and key community/academic organizations, including the BMW Center for German and European Studies at Georgetown University.

  • Works internally with BMW colleagues to distribute policy updates and ensure that the BMW Group position is advocated for on the federal level and clearly communicated to BMW member trade associations.

  • Represent BMW Group at outside meetings and events, and with key roles within partner organizations.

  • Supports briefings for senior management on policy topics of high importance to the business.

 

WHAT YOU SHOULD BRING.

  • Undergraduate BA / BS.

  • At least 7-10 years of government affairs experience, in the automotive industry preferred.

  • Knowledge of working with Capitol Hill, US government agencies and embassies.

  • Excellent communications skills (written, spoken, thought organization, effectiveness in communicating ideas, listening). 

  • Ability to explain complex concepts in simple terms.

  • Excellent knowledge of the government and legislative and regulatory process. 

  • German language skills an asset.

 

This is a hybrid role that requires regular attendance in the office.

Relocation is available for this position. This is a hybrid role that requires regular attendance in the office.

 

The expected salary range for this position is $108,800.00 – $201,300.00.

 

The selected candidate’s education, skills, experience, and location will be used to determine the final salary offer. All pay ranges are based on a full-time work schedule. This statement is in accordance with state and local pay disclosure requirements.
